First Place Win in the Sizzlin’ Summer Recipe Contest

First of all, I’m sorry for the lack of posts.I’ve started a new site for food photography that you can view at BigShot Images. I’ve been enjoying photography so much that I wanted to put together a place people could go to see my photography alone without all my entertaining stories and incredible wit
Actually, I’ve been exploring other photography subjects and wanted a place to keep them. I’ve also been entering recipe contests for the past couple of… ...continue reading about First Place Win in the Sizzlin' Summer Recipe Contest...
Blueberry Scones

I got more than most. While most bouts with fame last 15 minutes, mine endured through several repeat performances and managed to replace a live broadcast of the Master’s tournament in a bar in Kansas. That’s how you know you’ve made the Big Show. While I’m sure the Kansas paparazzi are awaiting my return for their photo op, I’m relegated to making a command decision on what to do with these blueberries. There are many berries coming into season so I encourage you to hit up the farmer’s markets and buy local whenever possible. Mario Batali would get Iron Chef design points by calling them a panino imbottito or a stuffed little bread roll. Panino imbottito sounds like it would be worth at least a couple more points. ...continue reading about Soppresata Tomato Panino...
Whole Wheat Sesame Crackers

These crackers are always a big hit with friends and family. They last for up to a week assuming no one is home to devour them. Otherwise, they are gone in a day. ...continue reading about Whole Wheat Sesame Crackers...
BLT – Turkey Bacon, Organic Garden Lettuce, and Tofu Sandwich

Desperate for food, the forager (me) searches the refrigerator for sustenance. Instead, there is tofu and turkey bacon. Despair you say? Other than a few too afraid to try my sauerkraut and lima bean soup, which many still say is the best soup they’ve had, this was indeed a great brunch sandwich. ...continue reading about BLT - Turkey Bacon, Organic Garden Lettuce, and Tofu Sandwich...
Poppy Seed Bread

Brian “The Guido” Bopp comes in today as the proud baker of the most amazing loaf of bread he’s made yet. There are ton’s of poppy seeds floating in the lightest bread protected by a flaky and firm crust that is lightly sweetened with a egg wash and sugar glaze. I call him “Guido” not because he likes it or anything, but because his grandmother said he looked like an Italian baker sometime during the Thanksgiving holidays. ...continue reading about Poppy Seed Bread...
