First Place Win in the Sizzlin’ Summer Recipe Contest

First of all, I’m sorry for the lack of posts.I’ve started a new site for food photography that you can view at BigShot Images. I’ve been enjoying photography so much that I wanted to put together a place people could go to see my photography alone without all my entertaining stories and incredible wit
Actually, I’ve been exploring other photography subjects and wanted a place to keep them. I’ve also been entering recipe contests for the past couple of months with potential winnings to include everything from $25,000 prizes to trips.
I wanted to let you all know that I recently hit the gravy train and was a first place finisher in the Kretschmar Deli Sillzin Summer Recipe Contest III with
this recipe that can be found on the Kretschmar Deli site. It is an adaptation of my Soppresata Tomato Panino I made a while back with some twists on Kretschmar’s products. First prize was $250 along with a year’s worth of Kretschmar products. Therefore, effective immediately, I will be quitting my job to pursue recipe contests full time (kidding, but wouldn’t that be cool). I won’t be taking calls about my first place finish but you may direct any questions to CNN or one of the wire services and I’ll have my people call your people.
Thanks for being a fan of FoodMedic. And by the way, we’re ONE YEAR OLD!. Happy Birthday to us!
About the ingredients:
A good home grown lettuce from the garden is very low in Saturated Fat and Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Protein, Calcium, Magnesium and Phosphorus, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Iron, Potassium and Manganese. Don’t expect nearly the same from the grocery store stuff. Tomatoes are low in Sodium, and very low in Saturated Fat and Cholesterol. They are also a good source of Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol), Thiamin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Copper, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Potassium and Manganese.

Gary,
I know it has been 20 years now since I left NY(hard to believe!). I was thinking about you the other day and decided to do a web search. Seems you are doing very well and have advanced a long way from our old Friday crock pot lunches (kraut and kielbasa) at S8G which is what made me think of you (a friend just bought one and wondered if I had any recipes for slow cooking).
You have some fabulous recipes posted and it will probably surprise you to know that I have been a vegetarian for almost 10 years now.
Be Well Old Friend,
Dan
